Nearly didn't go, as I expected it to be a restaurant in a former pub - but it is all pub.

The beer - Fullers Pride - was OK. The food looked and smelled delicious but we had already eaten.

Very busy with drinkers, a party and people eating.

A vibrant village freehouse offering good oriental food. The 17th Century building has been enlarged and knocked through to form a single large bar with two entrances and a central large chimney breast. One end feels a bit like a restaurant, the other a public bar due to its large tv showing Association Football. There is no real demarcation between the two ends, though. The décor is homely but the atmosphere is that of a busy modern pub/diner. The food is well cooked and tasty and it's reasonably priced, plus there are meal deals on offer. This pub is popular with the more civilised servicemen from the nearby RAF Halton, but it is by no means a squaddie bar. There were three ales on draft: I had Side Pocket for a Toad from the nearby Tring Brewery, a festival favourite of mine which, although not on peak form, was still a good pint. I would be very happy to spend a few hours here again.
