Very nice village pub down a dead end lane. The lounge to the front appears to be given over to eating now, but the bar is is very traditional, with all the exposed beams and collections of ninaks present and correct. Theres a sort of covered area for smohers and a slightly inappropriate outdoor seating out front and to the side. Seemed deservedly popular with friendly locals on our late afternoon call. it's an Everards tied house, and the Beacon was top notch. It's in the GBG.

I do note it has new management which may cause rampant foodification and the demise of another village local. Pricing the menu to have '5.5' to mean £5.50 does not inspire optimism. Anyway, as things stand it's worth seeking out.

The Fox and Goose is a small pub that is in a small out of the way village.
The pub is set sideways onto the road so the entrance is at the side of the pub, there are a few tables and chairs outside the pub for warm weather, once inside there are two smallish rooms the room to the right is a small dining room that had tables laid out,the main bar is to the left, this is a long narrow room with raised area to the left which had a dart board, the room has got a stone floor and there was a real fire roaring away on our early dinner time visit.
The pub is full of stuffed animals and other curios which included farming equipment,Jimmy Savilles last cigar and Jake the Pegs leg,i know this because the very friendly told us and was showing us some of the different items in his collection,he also said the pub had won the Babycham pub of the yesr award in 1978.
The pub is an Everards tied house and there were two real laes on the bar i had a drink of Everards Beacon bitter and this was a very nice well kept pint the other beer was Everards Tiger bitter.
This is a proper old pub with a landlord who has got a lot of character.
If you are in this part of south Leicestershire make sure you visit this pub you wont be dissapointed.

Stunning traditional pub in quiet village. No food, but well kept real ales. Interesting pub memorabilia.
