Part of the Vintage Inns sub-chain, so food-led as can be expected. This is actually a nice old building - a former wine store for the nearby Hartwell House - although it's had plenty of changes over the years. An L-shaped bar to left on entry. Areas in with a rough L-shape internal plan, with some nooks and crannies and no real sub-division between eating and drinking. Loads of framed paraphernalia on the walls and a rather mundane 5-pump ale line-up of Sharp's Dooma Bar x2, Adnam's Ghost Ship, St Austell Proper Job and Fuller's London Pride. Barely-discernable piped muzak and a sole TV tuned into BBC News on mute. £4.40 for a decent-ish Ghost Ship, but you're paying more for the decor than anything else.

this is by far the best pub I have ever been to. The food is good, there is a good selection of beer on tap and a good selection of wine for the ladies. The staff are all friendly and look smart and presentable. The family friendly atmosphere makes me want to go back again and again.
