This pub doesn’t look the most welcoming from outside but inside is a warm and comfortable real ale pub. The room to the right has two unclipped pulls but the room to the left has four clipped ones, cosy traditional (and very red) decor and lots of banquette seating. It’s one of those pubs that just feels right and for me one of the best in the area. My NZ Pale from Mallinsons was a superb pint.

This pub has had a facelift since my picture when it became an Allgates pub.
(Wigan's own micro brewery)
Cask ales around £1.60 a pint & excellent quality.
