Komakino . left this review about Sugar Loaf Inn
A 30s-build set back from the road and a mere stone's throw from the railway station and is accessed from out front via decking. Internally it has three-quarter high wood panelling throughout both rooms, which to the untrained eye (i.e. mine) appeared to be original. A pool room is located in an extended area dead ahead, with a square bar to the right also serving a boxier room through to the right which looks somewhat like a sixth form study room. Just the one ale - CW Eagle IPA, a half of which was £2, with two further pumps unclipped. There's plenty of emphasis on cheap food here and a healthy mixture of young and old means something's being done right here - the young seemed to gravitate to the room on the left and the old on the right. In addition, the bare-boarded floor throughout suggests either authenticity or spit and sawdust - I couldn't decide which.
