nice olde worlde pub out in the northern outskirts of Wigan. it’s a Marstons tied place but the corporate branding was not as overbearing as I feared from outside. low beams and rambling interior though this has been somewhat opened up. Four real ales on which were all typical Marstons associated nationals and expensive for the area. most of the customers in this afternoon were dining I think. It’s a nice pub but could be so much better in different hands I feel.

A excellent pub and with a welcoming atmosphere,and is the second oldest pub in england.Also has a bowling green at rear.
