As you enter the glass panelled swing doors have a sign saying "Fine Wines & Cask Ales". They're lying. There are no longer any handpumps on the bar and the house wine is advertised at £7.95 per bottle, so unlikely to be "Fine". It's an opened out square box with lots of sofa's and low seating. A large screen TV in the corner was showing a soap. One customer watching the TV and me at 7:45 on a Friday. I had a half of something fizzy and left. About 30 years ago when I used to work at Renold Gears across the road this pub was a regular venue for a Friday lunchtime pint. It's sad that it's been brought so low. I'll never call in again unless I hear that there have been major changes.
