nice friendly pub beer prices good and well kept could do with bit of entertainment at weekends as im sure would build trade up bar staff good and always pleasent landlord can be a bit grumpy at times bit nice enough one best pub on whitworth road and top end of town

Traditional local just on the edge of the town centre. Pool table in the room to the left as you walk through the door. The rest of the pub is one large room. It was quite quiet on Friday night with just a few people in at about 9 o'clock. Only has one handpump which serves Theakston’s Best Bitter. Not one of my favourite beers as I think it’s really bland but it was kept well enough. It’s a friendly enough place in a noisy sort of way, a proper local.
