Packed as usual. Talking of ‘usual’ that describes the Fullers beer range available here. My ESB was fine (NBSS 3) if not exactly sparkling.

November 2018
As me and my companion were attempting to accomplish ‘the full Wokingham’, it was time to pop back in here after my self-imposed exile. Things seem to have taken a turn upwards, the place feels a lot cleaner and looked-after. A full line-up of Fullers ales on, my Red Fox was beer of the day. Got chatting to the never knowingly understated landlord, who is obviously pleased with the job he has done here. So perhaps it’s time to put this one back on the regular visit list. Rated 7.5

Against my better judgement popped in again the other day. Plenty of ales on from the Fullers range plus a guest from Butcombe which was so-so. A pint of that and a Peroni set me back just short of nine quid which is a disgrace even by Wokingham's laughably high prices. Starting to get a bit shabby, the jumbrellas out the back were torn. I doubt I'll be back unless something significant happens. Rated 6

A tale of woe yesterday. Initially promising, with five of the Fullers range (Pride, HSB, ESB, Red Fox and another one-off I forgot to note). My Red Fox was £1.90 and was a fair half, though the taste became a bit sour when I caught the barmaid topping-up some of the ales from a glass that had been acting as a drip-tray. Little change inside, two rooms with a rustic feel and easily the busiest pub I visited. But the poor bar staff mean I won't be back until things have changed – is this practice condoned by Fullers I wonder? Knocked off a point. Rated 6

A Fuller’s pub situated at the far end of Wokingham town centre, opposite the church. It’s a two-roomed affair, with a central and a corridor leading out to a tidy concreted beer garden. There’s a real fire in winter, Sports TV and a dartboard (rarely used in my experience). The clientèle tend towards a younger slant than a lot of other pubs in the town. The beer is usually three of the Fuller’s standards (Pride, Discovery and ESB) along with a seasonal and occasionally, guest. The quality is usually pretty good, though prices are eye-watering, even for Wokingham. This was real corker of pub when Brian and Emma were in charge – they were the best landlord/landlady combo I’ve ever experienced. They’ve long since moved onto to bigger things and the place doesn’t quite have the ‘must-visit’ feel any more as they added that extra ‘something’ but it’s still a good bet if you’re in town. Excellent Fuller's pub. Friendly staff, with a cracking quiz on a Sunday. Loads of atmosphere with a well-kept Fuller's ale range, decent food and mixed clientele. Best proper pub in Wokingham without a doubt. Bryan and Emma are doing a great job here. Rated 9

Fuller's pub on a busy traffic junction. There are a couple of small rooms served by the bar. The smallest one appeared to be the one used for drinkers, despite there being none present. A much larger raised area had tables all set for diners. At the rear, there is an outdoor drinking area. The only other customers were there.

Fuller's London Pride & ESB are regular beers. The guests came from Dark Star - Hophead & Sunquake. We had one of each. Nicely laid out place, but felt too foodie for my liking.

Noticed this handsome looking pub from the Taxi and worth the short trip back out town for.

Fullers range - offering their range. The ESB was as good as I have had anywhere.

Setup for dining and football watching. Even both at the same time.

Good pub.

I thought this was quite a decent pub altough I am not particularly a Fullers fan.Split level and multi-roomed,wood flooring and some exposed brickwork,Sports TV was showing football,Sunday lunches were being served. Four handpumps, all Fullers,Pride,ESB,Olivers Island and a very good Wisemen obviously a seasonal special but a good example of one.
Worth a visit.
