Steve C left this review about Stanley Arms

Under the right front windows at the Stanley Arms are a couple of large booths and some tables and chairs are found under the left. The bar and seating area are broken up with a mix of wooden flooring, lino and tiling. There are small fireplaces in both the left and right walls and there is a wooden panelled and tiled wall in the left rear that may be an original feature. Stairs lead up to the Soul Suite and there is an advertised function room, these may be one in the same.
The bar on the rear wall at supports four handpumps, but only Ossett Yorkshire Blonde was available. There is also a standard and premium keg range and food is available, a cheeseburger and chips is price at £8. I found the service to be friendly, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit here again.

Brainy Pool left this review about Stanley Arms

smartly refurbished pub in a nice street but it’s just a bit dull. Any character has long gone, but it doesn’t seem to have found a new market either. One family were dining by the window and a large rowdy group arrived just before me, otherwise the place was pretty dead on a Saturday afternoon. Ossett Yorkshire Blonde the only real ale available. it’s a bit of a nothing pub.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Stanley Arms

Looks like a traditional pub, but the partly opened-out interior is more lightly decorated and modernly furnished than one might expect. Just an Ossett Pale (£3.50) as the only real ale available from the four handpumps.

Had scaffolding up during my last visit and now has reopened. One room downstairs with an upstairs room for hire. Four hand pumps but Hobgoblin the strongest @ 4.5% ABV. Decent enough place I suppose.

This place has obviously just been refurbed and restyled. A nice enough place and it smelled all clean and new (paint, creosote etc). An open plan small pub with the bar straight ahead. 4 handpumps on the bar but not the best - Dizzy Blonde, MPA, Theakstons Bitter and Hobgob on on my visit. Not a bad place and probably worth a visit despite the normality of it.

Used to be a Scottish and Newcastle managed house taken over from Matthew Brown one the Blackburn brewer but sadly gone. Can remember the big refurb here when worked for them the did very good refurbs in those days.Still a popular pub but the Landlord was a bit of a Walter Mitty and liked to hear his own voice which when you have been in the trade for many years it gets a bit ano to listen too

Real Ale Ray left this review about Stanley Arms

A well kept traditional pub, retaining all of it's original features. The mahogany bar faces you as you enter the pub and highly glazed Victorian wall tiles can be seen along the side walls up to the dado level. There were three main areas with the front ceilngs displaying some fine detailed plaster work. Four handpumps, we went for the Everards Elixir.

This pub is behind preston bus station, and is worth a visit if you go for cask ale. There four handpumps on the bar serving cask beers which change on a regular basis. The pub is very clean and the service was good.
