Now community-owned. Stripped-back and blandified inside (mind you, parts of the outside look awful - glance upwards at the first floor), though at least it’s light, bright and relatively tasteful (cushions excepted). Three cask available, my XT 3 was, er, NBSS 3. My companion’s Redemption was also fine, though neither really shone. Balance 20p on the waterborne lemon is something I haven’t seen for years (I of course lost my 20p within seconds). It’s GBG22 listed and it’s fine, but I much preferred the interior as was. Ah well, old man syndrome strikes again. 6.5

A quick drop-in during my crawl of Windsor suburbia. Little change from my previous visit, even the two Jack Russells were in situ. The large screen TV was showing velodrome cycling. Two ales on, St Austell Proper Job and Doom Bar, no local ales this time (why?). My PJ was a bit out-of-sorts - hazy and lacking freshness - which was a shame. Given that I increased the customer numbers by 33% perhaps the answer lies there. It’d be a shame if they are struggling for trade; hopefully it was just a quiet Saturday afternoon. I do like the place as a pub so I'll keep the score at a 7 and hope it was a one-off. Rated 6

A freehouse, selling three local ales on my visit (two Windsor and Eton plus an Andwell) which were in good form. This is a traditional local pub that feels like it hasn’t taken too much notice of the last 25 years bar the introduction of a telly; there's a very ‘lived in’ feel. Two friendly Jack Russells were in attendance and the landlord is clearly a QPR fan, judging by the paraphernalia.Dart boloard to rear. Outside decking available for sunny days, shame it was windy on my visit. Whilst this place won’t change your life I liked it and will make a point of returning. It’s a 10 minute walk from Windsor town centre and is worth the effort. Rated 7

A very traditional pub well attended by locals who are part of the family it would seem. Friendly, not tried the food, but joined in with the Tuesday Quiz night ... very pleasant place indeed. Parking a nightmare!
