A swift Xmas revisit. Five cask on from Bowland, Titanic and Lancaster. A Blonde of the latter was in GBG shape (NBSS 3.5). Very busy, with a lively crowd.

December 2022
Neatly located, this is a pretty building and the inside is also nicely done with a number of discrete seating areas including two bay banqueted windows (one of which is a horse racing corner with equine prints and showing on the telly). There’s also a good dose of old panelling. Six cask with a tidy selection of mainly regional breweries, we settled on Xmas beers from Bank Top (NBSS 3.5) and Pennine (3). A classic everyman’s pub. GBG’23 listed.

A Sunday evening visit in early April:lively with a largely mature clientele.Much as described by Ray and Aqualung: we sat in the right hand room, which appears to be a shrine to horseracing.Several handpumps on the bar;we enjoyed pints of Ossett Yorkshire Blonde and Bowland Buster, both of which were in good condition.
Wood panelled, perhaps a memory of its municipal past, reminding me of generic London pubs.Worth a revisit.

This is a very well kept pub and on our Thursday morning visit, the manageress was polishing the brasswork around the handpumps, which in my opinion is a sign of good beer. In fact all the beers we tried were in excellent condition.
The interior layout consisted of a right hand side lounge area with fireplace, sadly not in use, along with upholstered bench seating around the bay window. The left hand side also had upholstered bench seating around the bay. The bay area was positioned down the left hand side, which was finished in a dark stained oak and had a highly polished brass counter rail, plus an equally shiny brass footrest, along with a tiled floor area around the bar perimeter. The pub also had a pool table and jukebox down the far end.
Six ales across six handpumps on our visit, Reedley Hallows NZ Pale, Bass, Moorhouse's Blonde Witch, Stringers Stout No. 2, Saltaire Blonde and Wychwood Dirty Tackle. A few locals were in on our visit, who were all friendly and chatty, along with the equally welcoming landlady.

Aqualung . left this review about The Old Town Hall

This place was quiet on my early Wednesday evening visit. It's an old red brick building which inside consists of a narrow room split into different areas with a mix of wooden floors tiles and carpet. There is a pool table tucked away at the rear and TV screens which weren't too obtrusive.
The bar has five hand pumps which had Rooster's Yankee & Riwaka, Cross Bay Sunshine, Copper Dragon Golden Pippin and Moorhouse Witches Brew. I went for the Yankee (£2.68 including discount) which was excellent.
This seems to be more of a locals pub but the beer was good and it's well worth a look.

A biggish pub in the main square. Open plan with a pool table at the rear. A variety of old football programmes adorn the walls. A few real ales available. Friendly enough place.

I visited Poulton-Le-Fylde on a Tuesday 22/07/2014 and I found that due to local licensing laws all places that sell alcohol on that day & date only were closed.

Bar staff poorly trained and poorly managed (prefer to serve their mates rather than the next in line). Landlord rarely to be seen.
Pity, 'cos the beer's not bad.
