A swift Xmas revisit prior to getting the last leg of transport to Fleetwood. Couldn’t quite repeat the success of the previous year’s visit, but nonetheless my Coach House Christmas Stocking was perfectly drinkable (NBSS 3).

December 2022
Historic place though quite modern inside in a mid-market manner, the old layout is just about discernible. Seemingly a Greene King pub, there were four cask on; 2x GK (IPA, Rudolph), Black Sheep Bitter (NBSS 4.5) Bank Top’s Bad To The Bone (4). The beer quality really elevated this one, though it was rammed due to being Christmas Eve afternoon so I guess the cask turnover was much better than the usual. Either way, I’d look in again next time – it’s rare to get a Black Sheep that good. Rated 8

A good sized pub that was a former coaching house back in the day. The interior was modern but was still in keeping with the age of the building. The layout had three main areas, a right hand side bar area with pool table and screens. The left hand side of the entrance was mainly set out for dining and the rear of the pub had a good collection of bar stools along the bar. Three ales on handpump on our visit, GK IPA, Black Sheep and Hawkshead Bitter. The Hawkshead was a good pint and prices were reasonable.

A larg pub with a modern style inside. A J-shaped bar with 6 handpumps serving 4 cask ales. Lots of fizzpop dispensers also. Though the cask selection is a bit disappointing it is a pleasant place to have a drink.

I visited Poulton-Le-Fylde on a Tuesday 22/07/2014 and I found that due to local licensing laws all places that sell alcohol on that day & date only were closed.

Bit tatty but is an historic local pub which does what it says on the tin ; generally fairly quiet except Friday/Sat evenings; worth an occassional visit but could really do with a revamp and clean
