Once you manage the stairs down to the bar area, you're ok. The service in here was very efficient on our Thursday evening visit, plus I spotted some decent choices of ales across the 10 handpumps. For example Moorhouse's Blonde Witch and Witches Brew, Nottingham Legend, Phoenix Altitude, Loddon Hocus Pocus Old Ale. I went for the Moorhouse's Witches Brew and the Phoenix Altitude. The bar area had a white counter top, which looked very trendy and a timber lattice patterned bar front.

Modern fit out of a Spoons, making it different, but fittings feel a little cheap. Large space on an L shape, with some separation, again unusual. Good beer and service

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Railway Hotel (JD Wetherspoon)

Always a pub / hotel, but this still looks appealing despite the semi-modern 'spoons makeover (both inside and out). Various small(ish) seating / dining areas around the central servery, with the only gripes being the numerous small level changes and a very tortuous route to the gents' toilet. Fair selection from the two banks of five handpumps, from which the Lancaster Red (£2.15) seemed like the best bet.

This is a relatively recent conversion of an existing pub. As noted below it's a roughly L shaped open plan room which is split into areas with different floors and fixtures & fittings. I noticed a board advertising days out including a trip to Chester and a Moorhouse brewery visit. I sat in the end area with the clock and the wavy floor where some of the chairs looked as though they had been taken from a school and painted to try and disguise their origin.
The bar has ten hand pumps which had one unused, one available soon, the JDW Trio Of Doom, Deuchars IPA, Moorhouse C & S Ale, Pride Of Pendle & Blond Witch and Well's Bombardier Gold. I went for the C & S Ale which was in good nick. Apart from not having a great beer choice, possibly due to the impending brewery visit, I thought this was a good Spoons. It's GBG 2017 listed.

Built by the Catterall and Swarbrick brewery on a site adjacent to the original Lytham station (hence the name), this is now a large, modern Wetherspoons pub, having been taken over by the chain in 2012. You enter into a bright glass fronted raised area with a couple of comfy lounge seating sections to either side. These are carpeted and have pastel shaded walls and a few old pictures on show, as well as a smart fireplace on the left hand side. The servery can be accessed from the right hand side and also runs down to the lower half of the pub which appears ahead, down a few steps. This area has an unusual floor with ‘Spoons slogans and products written across it in bold fonts. Seating here is limited to a few booths on the left hand wall, which don’t really work in terms of offering privacy, as they are directly opposite the main part of the bar. Further on there is what appears to be a former courtyard, now brought inside under a high skylit roof. The space has an unusual wavy tile floor and a fair amount of metal table and chair seating, with a large station style clock hung from the middle of the ceiling. Open windows look through to a rear lounge with smart upholstered chairs, a nice fireplace with a driftwood framed mirror above it, lots of beach themed pictures and photos and an open kitchen. A door to the rear leads to the car park and a little outdoor seating, although I thought the seating outside the front of the pub was a better spot for al fresco drinking.
There were ten hand pumps, split between the two sections of bar, which makes it a bit of a chore to figure out exactly what was on. Six handpulls were dispensing guest ales, whilst the other four had ‘Spoons regulars, although for some reason, most of the guests were from the Moorhouse Brewery. I bucked the trend and tried a pint of Beartown Bearskinful, which I regretted as it was really unpleasant. I initially thought it was just the taste I didn’t like, but as I got further down the glass, I realised it was actually a conditioning issue and I left it unfinished.
This is a bit of a strange place, as it doesn’t feel much like a Wetherspoons, which is a good thing, but then it doesn’t feel like a proper pub either, perhaps because it’s been styled as a trendy bar. The poor pint I had was enough to convince me that I should cut my losses and give some of the town’s other pubs a try instead.

Smart and compact JDW pub, which on my Sunday lunchtime visit had 8 cask beers on and a Large(Large that is for the JDW chain, and it was also only their second week)and friendly barstaff. On entry after ascending a few steps past the outdoor drinking area, there are seating areas to the immediate left and right, with the L shaped bar slightly to the right beyond this.Past the bar and down a few few steps there is another small seated area which is accessible for wheelchairs via an outside door on the right. There are also a few prints and photos of trains ect but nothing to any excess.
As with most JDW pubs i have found the toilets usually spotless, and the Railway Hotel is no exception,in fact i found them immaculate with the glazed pebbled tiles a quite impressive feature. To arrive at the Gents you have to manoeuvre several narrow flights of stairs, that seem to have more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie novel.

I attended the guest opening day at the new Wetherspoons pub in Lytham. We were served a very nice meal and had tickets for two drinks. The pub itself is very well decorated and furnished a bit small against the normal JD pub.As usual the gents are upstairs you have to climb twenty one steps and then go along a narrow passage. This is not my kind of pub.The pub is now known as THE RAILWAY.
