Called in this lunchtime to check out the reports of cask ale appearing. There was indeed a handpump serving Adnams bitter. Sadly I couldn't get any as the dumb customers were queuing at the two tills as if they were in a McDonalds. As I've said before, a pub for people who don't like pubs and don't even seem to know how they work.

When I was much younger this pub was called The Beach and a good friend of mine used to work here. After a relatively short time as Millers it is now called The Beach again.

This is now a really poor place. It’s another one of those pubs for people who don’t like pubs. It’s all one huge room really, but it’s sectioned off so that it looks like several rooms. There’s a large conservatory at the back which would have good views of Hollingworth Lake if it didn’t have a kiddies play area in the way. The floor as you enter and round the bar is old stone but was wet in several patches when we went and it wasn’t even raining. There’s no real ale of course and even the Becks is a bit pricey. It majors on food, but sadly it’s all bought in plastic stuff. There’s no reason to ever go in here.

Eddie Rathmill left this review about The Beach

I live about 5 minutes walk from the Beach and for several years up to 2010 I hardly went in the place due to its bad atmosphere, poor food, bad service, screaming kids and indifferent beers. I am pleased to say that over the past few months this has all changed. My wife and I eat out at least twice a week and we now make a point of visiting the Beach on one of these occasions. It has changed into a very good pub in pleasant surroundings with excellent food and two variable popular real ales which are served quickly by friendly staff. Many meals are 2 for £10 and this includes a 10oz gammon which is incredibly good value (and very popular). My favourite beer is Black Sheep and this is regularly one of the real ales along with Timothy Taylors Landlord. The last time we had a meal there was two days ago and the place is becoming very busy. We consider ourselves very lucky to have this pub and also "The Gallows" (which is just as good) within walking distance.

After being taken over and re-branded as a Two For One pub/restaurant, this has turned into what you can typically expect of all Two For One establishments, and that is fairly busy through peak times, same menu as everywhere else, and swarming with kids.
This is not the place designed for a quiet sociable drink, unless you take the afternoon off work and go then!
The food is what you can always expect from these large chains, but it's generally delivered fast and is always a good enough portion to satisfy your appetite.
A no-fills place to go for a quick meal out before pay day, The Beach does everything it says on the tin... with a lovely view of Hollingworth Lake at the rear, and an outdoor play area for the kids.
