Will Larter left this review about Greaves Park

One of two fine houses in the parkland on the east side of Greaves Road, its owners and builders would be shocked to know that it is now a pub. But relieved, I am sure, to know how tastefully the repurposing has been done, with some stunning original features well preserved. The window in the staircase behind the bar (see photo) is probably the best of these, but each of the dining rooms, and the drinking lobby in front of the bar are similarly pleasurable. The approach by car is from Bowerham Road, but if a pedestrian on Greaves Road fancied popping in for a half, they could follow my footsteps through a little wilderness to the front right of the house, arriving at the steps leading to the terrace. There's a conservatory through which this can be accessed in warmer weather, and the toilets are also to be found off this modern addition. Normal entrance is from the north side, into the aforementioned lobby, with the bar a few paces further on to the left. There are eight hand pumps, but although they bore an identical number of pump clips, half were "coming soon". I was left to choose between two Greene King beers, IPA and Abbot (this is a Chef & Brewer pub), plus local Bowness Bay Lakeland Blonde and Nine Standards Golden Ale. I went for the last named, now brewed at Settle Brewery, which surprised me by being well-balanced with a dry, bitter finish and just a faint hint of blackcurrant. Service was very good: efficient, polite and friendly. This pub very nearly achieved a fairly rare 9 from me, but on leaving I noticed that the background music (tolerable internally) was playing from a speaker on an external wall. They're lucky to lose only one point for that!

Brainy Pool left this review about Greaves Park Brewers Fayre

not a brewers fayre anymore, but still very much a food driven big house. nothing special, but comfortable enough.
