They have spent a small fortune on this place since my last visit, it looks very smart for what is essentially still a rockers pub. Still nothing exciting, either on the bar or in the decor, but it’s popular and lively - clearly keeps high standards and the regulars appreciate that. My Trooper was fine and I enjoyed the eclectic mix of tunes queued on the jukebox (from ABBA to the Prodigy via Metallica).

Close to the railway station this is very much a rock music pub. I only had a fleeting visit here but it seemed OK, though its probably patchouli oiled up of a weekend night. I seem to remember about 3 handpulls but I can't remember if they were any good.

Aqualung . left this review about The Pub

This pub consists of an open plan carpeted room with a stage, dart board, jukebox and a pool area to the right. A pool match was going on when I arrived on a Wednesday evening. Live music is prominently advertised as well as a function room upstairs. The jukebox is an old CD based one with an emphasis on Classic Rock. I was chuffed when a track from Led Zeppelin III came on. Apart from the pool match it was quiet.
The bar has three hand pumps which had one unused, Thwaite's Wainwright and Bank Top Flat Cap. I went for the Flat Cap (£3.20) which was in good nick. This place is primarily a live music venue and rock pub. Although I didn't dislike it particularly I found it hard to see why it should be GBG 2017 listed.
