about as average a pub as you can possibly get. a basic traditional interior, always full of old men watching the horses. rough and ready on a Friday night with bouncers and disco lights but it's fine in the daytime.

A small traditional style town boozer. The interior is standard tables, chairs and stools with some banquette seating thrown in. The bar had 4 working handpulls with all beers from Thwaites on on my visit. A pleasant set of locals made for a pleasant stay.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Brown Cow Inn

A small traditional Thwaites pub in the centre of town. This was a well kept pub and the service was good. Once through the doors there was banquette seating either side of the doors with small tables and stools. The bar was over on the left and had white flashing string lights along the top of the pot shelves. There were a few locals having a bite to eat on our visit and the staff were very attentive, checking everything was ok. Our Thwaites Wainwright was very good.
