Old Boots left this review about Black Lane Ends

A lonely, exposed pub on't moors between Colne and Skipton if you go the pretty way. During the summer the views must be glorious towards the Forest of Trawden; they're dramatic in winter. The pub inside is perhaps not as you would expect being tastefully modernised but still retaining an open fire at one end. Mainly open plan, to the left is a lounge area and to the right beyond a vestigial wall is a more formal dining layout with tables and chairs, the pub is apparently popular and well regarded for its food. The menu is interesting chef's specials rather than more ordinary pub fare, the mains bracket £10 in pricing, service style is more restaurant than pub in character. The counter is located in the laminate and carpeted lounge area and boasts two banks of three pulls with a selection of mainly local Yorkshire beers from Black Sheep, Daleside, Taylors and Copper Dragon, the others were from Cottage and Three Bs. A couple of T Bars between the pumps cater for the usual keg beers. The quality was excellent although a touch cold for me, the blazing fire made up for it though. Décor is modern and fairly bland with a few pictures and some artfully grouped earthenware, the seating is a good mix of old tables, chairs and bench seating. There is a fenced off children's play area behind the car park, I would suggest for summer use only. Its location of course makes it a destination pub so the quality of food and beer need to be high, I think it succeeds.

Now known as the Black Lane Ends. Still in the same place, in the middle of nowwhere, with superb views!
Five cask ales on 15/3/10: Timothy Taylors Landlord and Golden Best; Ossett Big Red and Excelsior; Black Sheep Bitter. Excelsior (one of my favourites) in very good nick. Roaring log firs at each end, and excellent food. Some very creative and delicious stuff for foodies, but lots of ordinary stuff too.
