We started a crawl of Chorley here on Tuesday. Being furthest from the town centre, we were initially planning to drive here before dumping the car at our hotel. However, the sat nav kept taking us to the Prince of Wales in the town centre and we eventually decided to give up, park the car and walk. This wasn't a bad start to our day in the town.

The landlady here was really friendly and took a genuine interest in our reason for being there. This is a Marston's pub in a residential area to the east of the centre. It doesn't serve food and was quiet at lunchtime, with just 1 other customer present. There are a number of cosy rooms. We entered the small saloon bar at the front and after being served, walked through a further room to the left of the bar counter into the largest of the 4 rooms at the rear. This room must be where live music is performed, as there was various music memorabilia on the walls, in addition to pictures of famous Hollywood actors and actresses. Beyond this room is a small outdoor seating area.

Regular beers here are Banks's Sunbeam, Thwaite's Wainwright & Jennings Cumberland Ale. Guests were Banks's Mild, Courage Directors & Ringwood Razor Back.

A lovely pub on the outskirts of the town centre. 4 roomed plus beer garden to choose from and nice they are too. The larger lounge is traditional in style, the pool to the right is what you would expect and the small bar area at the front is also traditional. 8 handpulls on the bar with 2 banks of 4 on each side of the bar with Wainwright, Shipyard Melonhead, Banks Sunbeam, Young's Special, Young's Bitter, Hobgob Gold and Cumberland on on my Saturday afternoon visit. A very nice pub and worth the walk from the bus/train station.

Delightful pub. Good beer good atmosphere good publican and staff. Well worth the trek out of Chorley town centre. Mrs Phantom was well impressed with the real fire after a hike up the cold moors earlier. Another little gem of a pub.Always something to keep your attention in the nick knacks all around but wouldnt want to be he cleaner. Beer real and excellently kept. Wish it was my local but lucky it isnt. I would never go home.
