Will Larter left this review about The Royal

Entrance top the Royal is through a sort of glazed verandah which serves as a dining room with a view, though the view is only of the road through the village. Past this there are steps up to the main part of the pub, which is modernised and trending towards a sports bar rather than country pub. The bar is light wood with brass rails (both for elbows and feet) and has to hand pumps with blonde beers on: Robinsons Dizzy Blonde and Kirkby Lonsdale Monumental. We were grateful for the warmth of the solid fuel stove in the large fireplace, but could have done without the hotel lounge-type background music.

Brainy Pool left this review about The Royal

a rather upmarket modern kind of place in the middle of Silverdale. it was popular with diners and quite a few drinkers on a warm Saturday. a touch sterile inside for me and not especially 'pubby' at all, more bar/bistro than anything. two handpumps with Dizzy Blonde and some nice enough 'Radical' red ale. watched the rugby league Challenge Cup final in the bar with some jolly day trippers.
