Blue Scrumpy left this review about Ye Old Sparrow Hawk Inn

Large roadside pub overlooking open fields, with a large car park to the right-hand side and tables to the front and rear. The local bus service stops outside.

Inside, most people were off to the left-hand side of the bar. The room to the rear houses a large stained glass skylight. With a group of older guys congregated around the bar discussing cricket and football, I headed off to the quieter right-hand side of the pub, where staff kept heading up some stairs which I assume led to the function room.

5 ales were on - Reedley Hallows Sparrowhawk House Ale & Filly Close Blonde, Bowland Hen Harrier & Boxer Blonde & Timothy Taylor Boltmaker. Similar to the previous reviewer, I also chose the Filly Close Blonde. It wasn't really my sort of beer, but the conditioning was fine.

Rob Hunter left this review about Ye Old Sparrow Hawk Inn

Visited a week ago, Thursday afternoon. Weather was nice so a few people sitting outside but the inside was fairly quiet. Six pumps at the bar, five of which were on, two by Reedley Hallows, two by Bowland and one other which may have been by Worsthorne. My half of Filly Close by Reedley Hallows set me back £1.65 and was a fairly pleasant golden ale. Didn't seem to be a massive variety in styles on the pumps but a reasonable enough selection. Would happily return.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Ye Old Sparrow Hawk Inn

We actually stumbled across this pub on our way to Barrowford, so we decided to have a nose and what a pleasant surprise once through the doors, as they had a comprehensive range of Reedley Hallows ales on handpump. A taster plank with some thirds was in order, plus some half pints here and there. Five ales on handpump which were Reedley Hallows, Pendleside, Old Laund Bitter, Monkholme Premium and New Laund Dark. Also tried was the Worsthorne Red Man. The pub consisted of various seating areas, low beams and open fires. The young barman was new and told us he was interested in learning all he could about real ale. He is definitely in the right place then. The pub also serves food.
