Steve C left this review about Jolly Carter

The Jolly Carter is split in two with a small bar area to the right where there are some bar stools and a raised seating area in the front right corner. There is a large dining area to the right rear where standard pub food that is priced around £7 for a main can be eaten. The left hand bar is larger and houses a dartboard, pool table and a couple of gaming machines. There is also a small television that was showing Holby City during my visit on Tuesday evening last week. This was at a very low volume as there was some background music playing off a jukebox. Out the back and to the right of the pub is a beer garden full of seating and at the rear is a car park.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and one of the hand pumps was unused leaving Banks Brewery’s Old Slapper as the lone ale option.
I think that there is karaoke every other Friday night and there is a quiz on Sunday evenings and Wednesday is bingo night.
This pub opens daily at noon except for Mondays when it opens at 14:00. There is a late license until 23:59 (very specific for some reason) on Fridays and Saturdays.

There were only two other customers so there was little atmosphere, but the service was friendly and I think that there would be a decent atmosphere when busier as this is a well-kept pub. Maybe lose the soaps on the TV. I would have no problem returning for another couple of pints.
