Quinno _ left this review about The Merrymakers

Not one I was much looking forward to, and having rocked up just after midday to find it closed I must say we were tempted to sack it off but returned an hour later to find the doors open. In short, it’s a 70’s-style estate pub that is fairly beaten up and clearly seen much better days. The inside is a large, cavernous and smelly place (damp plus dog), roughly divided in two halfway down, with a garden beyond. We were greeted by a ferocious (but fortunately small) dog that barked at us for most of our stay. Three ales, though how many were actually on was a moot point. Badged were Youngs ordinary (horrid) Youngs Gold (off) and London Pride. A small selection of bottled ales provided a much less harmful choice. Pool table to the rear. In short - it’s a mess and unlikely to last much longer by the looks of it. Do the locals care?
