The Bridgewater Hotel is a Sam Smiths pub with multiple small seating areas. During my recent early Tuesday evening visit the handful of aged locals had congregated in the seating area to the right of the L shaped bar counter which is found along the front wall to the right of the entrance. A small room with seating and a fireplace towards the rear was open, but all other rooms were lights out. The service was functional and it was Keg only.

A very nice multi-roomed Sam Smiths pub. There's a pool room to the left, the main bar area to the right. There's another small room facing the bar and a further one past the bar. There's also a "Best Room" through a door which was closed on my Friday, early evening visit. According to the locals I got talking to it was a dump until less than 5 years ago. Now it's been refurbished and is by far the best pub in Farnworth. Friendly locals and barmaid and a pleasantly grumpy landlord (well he does work for Humphrey). Old Brewery Bitter was £2 a pint and was in very good nick. I won't be visiting Farnworth ever again, but if I had to this is the pub I would drink in.
