Set in huge grounds (fantastic wooded beer garden) and may have been a good pub once but now feels a bit dingy and run-down. Four pumps, two on; St Austell Tribute and Brains Main Stage which was fairly pedestrian and came with gratis floaty bits in the glass. Shame.

Country pub tucked away in the back lanes of Farnham Royal just north of Slough.
Fairly spacious inside, having two areas either side of the central serving area which have a traditional decor and open fires. Then there is a function room beyond the right hand area which houses the monthly music nights held in the pub.
It advertises itself as a pub and restaurant, so obviously focuses on food as well as beer. But as we were here for our firms Christmas drink up I cannot comment on the food side.
But there are three real ale hand pumps on the bar which were dispensing seasonal Xmas brews from smaller breweries. I can’t remember what these were now except that when they ran out the barrel was changed efficiently and one of the ones that went on was Batemans Rosey Nosey.
Service was good and the beer was well kept.
It also benefits from a large garden out the back so can imagine it’s a very pleasant place for a pint in summer. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again when back in the area.

new owners and staff great food and three real beers on all the time

the best pub in slough for food and beer, and the best landlord and landlady with the most frendly and helpfull staff i have met. real ale at its best and freshly cooked food at fair prices (this pub is now closed yet another pub that build the trade up, so up the rent, extra £20,000 a year so goodby to a good pub)

Large Beer garden with fenced off horse fields out the back, play area for children in the back garden, smokers get to sit under a canopy by the back entrance to the pub, also a couple of tables outside the front. The Crown inn has plenty of spaces for parking.
