As below six years later. We were here for a (postponed) 40th birthday in the front bar which included a DJ. Bizarrely in the other room (the other part of the L, separated by a door) there was a second DJ playing tunes to a sparsely-populated audience. A Brakspear house of old, this offered Gravity and Young's London Original with Oxford Gold reversed (doubled on both bars). Flagstone-floored throughout, there are tables of varying height in the larger bar. The bar we were in (which faces the road) is smaller and has tables in its bay windows (two). Service was sharp after some initial misgivings and the Young's was just £3.50 pint. The rave and dance-based music was enjoyable for the occasion, but not something I'd expect on a subsequent visit so don't let that deter you.

L-shaped Brakspear foody pub done up in a fairly modern style with no real intrinsic internal character. Three Marstons list ales; Brakspear Bitter, Hobgoblin and a tainted Ringwood Boondoggle. Accommodation offered. The large outside front decking is a fair place to sup in the summer months.
