Located down an unadopted road (a gravel and dirt track, basically) it all looks unpromising as you begin the ascent but persist and you shall find. The pub is a pretty basic L-shaped place that smelt of Dettol and dog. Three pumps, just Doom Bar which spluttered and died at the pump, however the friendly landlady told us to go sit out in the sun and she’d fetch a fresh one from the cellar – good service! Sports TV spotted. Large and decent side grassed garden with BBQ. Not one to seek out specially but if you’re at the Bird and it’s a sunny day, maybe worth a five minute walk for an al fresco pint.
