Quinno _ left this review about The Woodley Arms

Since my review, both of the licensees have passed away and the pub has been flogged off to developers. We can assume it will not be re-opening as flats are the order of the day.

June 2009
Unspoilt pub built in 1973 by Morlands to replace a Victorian pub a few yards away, knocked down for a new housing development and run by Adie and Viv since then. Greene King beers served under pressure; XX Mild available. Two rooms, plush lounge bar and spartan public bar. Not yet listed on the CAMRA inventory but this may soon change as they are not yet up to being allowed the 1970's yet. Adie and Viv are a lovely couple, very helpful and they run a tight ship – no troublemakers in here. Longest-serving landlords in Reading too, I understand. A good community local, tucked slightly away from the main road. Usually closed afternoons.
