Has re-opened as a pub and is fairly pleasant - a lot of the cosiness that was ripped out a few years ago has been reinstated. A couple of ales on (Doom Bar and Itchin Valley) and mine was fine. Hopefully the locals start coming back.

July 2015
The sad demise of this once nice pub continues as it is now basically an Indian restaurant with small, ale-less bar.

November 2013
A recent re-visit found the place up-to-let and down in the mouth. Just Pride and Doom Bar (unimpressive quality). One other customer. Carpet has been ripped out of the right hand bar area. Should be one of area's best pubs but never is!

May 2011
Really lovely-looking place 10 minutes drive from Wokingham. The interior is split into two fairly small drinking rooms which can get pretty cosy when there are more than a dozen people in, with beams, pub dog, tankards, plus a real fire for the winter. Also has an ancient Millionaire quizzer, where the screen has gone green with age. Car park is pretty tight, go careful on the clutch. The let down is the beer - four to five ales on (safe bets like Broadside, Pride, Deuchars IPA and Courage Best) and the condition of them can be rather variable. Get the beer right and this could be a winner…
