Pub has been sold to Greene King to the freeholders (note not the licensees) of the Nags Head. Here's hoping it becomes the pub that the local area merits.

Had a big refurb a couple of years back. It's nice inside (though starting to get grubby) but the two rooms have been knocked through. The Bar Billiards table has disappeared again. Last three visits have found firstly no ale, then one so vile it had to go back and most lately three on with an impressive half of Golden Hen; so inconsistent! Seemingly slack management extended to my tub chair being somewhat past its use-by date. Punter base still broadly similar to before, at odds with the surroundings. Must do better in this location, the locality has headed upmarket faster than GK have realised.

Greene King pub, that threatens to be really quite good but usually fails to convince on a regular basis. The interior has two bar areas - off to the left is a plush area with carpet, TV and bar billiards. Off to the right is a little more 'robust'. Usually two mainstream mediocre GK beers - if they made a bigger effort on this front I'd be more tempted to go in for a game of BB...
