Quinno _ left this review about The Red Lion Inn

Off-the-beaten-track pub with a cosy olde worlde country ambience if a little scruffy round the edges. Low ceilings, multiple rooms and log fire. Large outside grassed garden. Minus points - the staff left a bit to be desired as did my Badger Tanglefoot (one of two H&W ales despite four pumps) and the lemonade consumed by the day’s DES was condemned as ‘pitiful’. Didn’t feel particularly welcome and we definitely got stares from at least one local. Bar Billiards available on a very slow table, one side of which is against a wall making certain aspects of play difficult. Dog-friendly and we got barked at by the giant lump of a hound I took to be the pub dog. I wanted to like this place but it didn’t do it for me. Could be a winner in the right hands as it’s a genuinely lovely building.
