A fine traditional style pub that's as tatty as f*** but isn't as bad as you'd think. Only 3 of the 6 handpumps were on but at least the fire in the room to your left as you enter was roaring away. I liked this pub and it does seem to like its "rock music". No Sonic Youth or Half Man Half Biscuit to be heard or seen but not to worry. Lots of pictures of steam trains. Naturally.

I last visited this pub 22 years ago. I don't think it's been decorated since, even the carpet looks the same, although it's so worn in places it's difficult to tell. There's a pool table in the room to the right as you enter and a small lounge with a great fireplace to the left which has a real fire in Winter. The bar is straight in front of you as you enter and there's also a beer garden. There's lots of railway memorabilia and the pub is very dog friendly. This is very much a rock pub, with live bands and the clientele sport long hair, studs, earrings and tattoos, all very friendly though. 6 handpumps with 3 beers available. The Triple fff Moondance was in good nick. As a pub it's a bit of a shambles really, but I still like it.

Town centre pub offering 5 cask beers,a decrotive fireplace feature with log fire and friendly barstaff.Although i found the pub slightly untidy with clutter and a dog basket and bowl in the corner, the positive aspects outweighed the negative ones, the pint of Black Five was certainly ok.

The Station is situated at the bottom end of warrington street,go any further down and you will end up on the park parade duel carriageway.
Once inside there was a decent sized bar that had different drinking areas, there was also a seperate snug,i had a drink in the main bar which had comfy bench seating and stools, there were lots of pump clips behind the bar as this was Thameside's premier real ale pub at the time of my visit, having said that the drinks selection on my visit was a bit dissapointing.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Chesters mild which was a very nice well kept beer, the other beers were Boddingtons bitter and Marstons Pedigree.
This was a very pleasant pub to have a drink in.
