Alan Winfield left this review about Spread Eagle

The Spread Eagle was a decent sized three storey pub that was situated in the middle of Ashton.
The lower half of the pub was part tiled.
Once inside i was surprised to find out that this was Ashtons top biker and rockers pub, this did'nt bother me one bit because i felt quite at home in these sort of pubs.
There were a couple of rooms that i noticed, both painted in dark colours and being dimly lite, rock music was blasting out even though the pub was almost empty on my Saturday afternoon visit.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Spread Eagle bitter which was a decent enough drink, dont know who brewed this though, the other beer was Theakston best.
I was quite happy drinking in this pub,it was right up my street.
The pub has now sadly been pulled down along with the rest of this area of Ashton, there is now an NHS centre where the pub once stood.
