Now this is more like it. Compared to the shite that's not too far away this is a great place. Traditional style, clean and not full of deadheads. 4 handpumps but sadly only 2 on but, hey, compared to the Angel, Mynt and Time Zone crap around the corner, who cares.

This is now a very smart pub after having quite a lot of money spent on it fairly recently. It's all one room with a raised area to the left as you enter set up with dining tables and chairs. There's also a decent sized beer garden that was a real sun trap on my Friday afternoon visit. It's a Robinsons tied house and the 3 handpumps were pulling Unicorn, Trooper and the seasonal world cup beer Brazilian, which was a decent pint. This is one of the best pubs in central Ashton now.

The Caledonia is situated in the pedestrianised shopping area of Ashton,it is quite close to the market.
Once inside this was a proper pub with two seperate rooms, there was a fairly basic bar and a more comfortable lounge,on the two occasions i have been in this pub i have had a drink in the bar.
The pub is a Robinsons tied house, there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Robinsons bitter which went down well, the other beer was Robinsons mild.
If you happen to be in the middle of Ashton while shopping this pub is very handy for a quick drink.
I was quite happy drinking in this pub.
