Steve of N21 left this review about Fleur de Lis

This bright and airy pub hotel was probably the liveliest of all the establishments of an evening we visited in Sandwich but unfortunately despite having four hand pumps on the bar , none were in operation on the evening we visited. Two were clipped but reversed and one looked like it had been Harvey’s Sussex Best but I couldn’t make out the other from the pump clip shape.
As mentioned it was very lively on my evening visit with a largely younger crowd who were tucking into the available standard keg offerings and I can’t believe these had been responsible for draining the ale pumps and I wonder how much focus now goes on the ale here, especially when walking past the day after to still find the clips reversed.
Internally it is in four distinct sections with the main parquet floor bar area being the first one you enter into. Then to the right of this is the carpeted dining area with wooden tables and dark leather seating. To the left of the bar is a further wooden floored area with large bench seating and then beyond this is a further area a dart board, bar billiards table and further seating area.
This looked like it’s a decent pub hotel, but unfortunately the lack of ale was a big negative for me.
