Good no nonsense pub which had two Gadd's beers both which were in very good form. Very close to the town centre but unfortunately not near to the railway station which after the walk is a very good pub to have a pint.

One of Ramsgate's oldest pubs, The Red Lion is in the pedestrianised bit of the town centre. It has a two large bars inside and there is outside seating in the French cafe style. Floorboarded throughout, the front bar has comfortable seating, overhead fans, a tv and a gaming machine, while the rear bar has a pool table and dartboard. Although slightly rough and ready, it's popular with visitors, shoppers and ale lovers, and it is a GBG regular. Only two ales on, both from Gadds: I had a 4.5abv dark bitter whose name I can't remember, which was very fine indeed, plenty of taste but served just a little too cool for my liking. Definitely worth a look in if in the town centre, and a must for a town crawl.
