Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Laughing Barrel

Micro-pub formed from part of a much larger original pub called the Northdown, with the remainder now a pharmacy and in residential use. L-shaped club-like bar around a compact counter devoid of handles or taps, with two of the five draught beers being served from free-standing electric pumps in a small side area on on gravity from a room at the back. I went for the St Augustins Cross from Mad Cat, with a pair each from Wantsum and Constellation.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Laughing Barrel

This newly opened micropub and pharmacy shares the same building of what was once a former estate pub named the Northdown. A local sitting alongside us at the bar, told us that the Northdown was a decent pub, and that it was owned by Enterprise Inns, costs went up, trade slowed down, so it closed down.
The interior of this new micro was modern, with white painted walls, a grey painted floor and lots of brightly painted pictures around the walls by a local artist. Three ales on, Old Dairy Blue Top, Wantsum Imperium and Whitstable Oyster Stout. There was also a choice of six locally produced ciders.
I went for the Old Dairy, which was in excellent shape and also tried the Wantsum, which was a very interesting tasting beer.
