Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Chequers

Traditional village pub, in a picturesque setting at the bottom of a steep valley beside a stream. 'L'-shaped bar, with a separate dining area behind a semi-open partition wall. Beer garden - part patio / part grassed - to the rear. Also hosts two popular events: the plastic duck race held on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday and the Boxing Day morris dancing featuring several sides (including the incomparable Loose Women), and the bar staff certainly work their socks off on the event days. Typical selection of Harveys, Doom Bar and two local beers - Reliant Robin and Muzzleloader from Musket Brewery (£4.00) - available on this revisit.
