Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Red Lion

Historic inn, given a semi-modern makeover but still offering hotel accommodation. Large bar with a dining area to one side and a separate room to the rear. The light decor and sparse furniture arrangement might not appeal to the traditionalist, but it's quite well done in its own way. Harvey's, Young's Ordinary and Old Dairy Copper Top (£3.70) available on handpump.

Clive Thompson left this review about The Red Lion

The exterior could be a bit more welcoming but the welcome inside was excellent. It's clearly had a bit of cash spent on it since my last visit when I remember it as the Water's Edge. There are now seperate eating and drinking areas with an overflow eating area out the back. There are sofas for those who like to drink in a prone position plus other more traditional seating. There's a bookcase with reference books which is handy for settling any bar room debates and fresh flowers on each table added another nice touch to go with the friendly and efficient service. Beers were Gadds No 3 & No 5 and Native from the Whitstable Brewery, all in good nick. This looks like a pub on the up.
