Real Ale Ray left this review about The Heron

A large two roomed pub which internally looked stuck in the 1980's, possibly when it had its last makeover. The right hand room was set up for a party and all the tables had large red paper serviettes stuck into wine glasses along the tables. I got a stern look off one of the staff, so I quickly made my way the rear lounge bar to see one handpump, with Master Brew and Spitfire on Keg.
We went for the Master Brew, which was in good condition and sat outside in the front garden, whilst waiting for the next train.

Aqualung . left this review about The Heron

I only visited this pub as I had time to kill before getting a train back to London. As noted below it's a fairly modern Shep's pub right next to the Railway Station.
It's precisely described below and still has the two pool tables and darts in the carpeted public bar while the saloon had a busy raised area with several older folk dining.
As before both bars had two hand pumps with just Master Brew (£3.30) on offer. This was in good condition but was poor value compared to the micropubs and Spoons visited earlier.
I suspected I wouldn't be impressed by this pub before I even went in but will be generous and give it a five.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Heron

1960s Shepherd Neame estate pub, also benefitting from its proximity to the railway station. Retains its original layout, with a large lounge (partly set aside for dining) and an equally large public bar with two pool tables. Small front beer garden with picnic benches and a children's play area. Just Master Brew available from a pair of handpumps in each bar; but, apart from the limited beer choice, it is worth noting that this place appears popular and well run.
