A rather tidy and smart little pub, a single L shaped room , cosy and carpeted providing both pool and darts as well as TV sport. However the beer offering didn't live up to the promise gathered from the Whatpub description, three handpumps , two clipped with Greene King IPA leaving one bare, the keg selection was generally mundane so I took a chance on a half of Greene King East Coast IPA and surprisingly found it agreeable. A nice feel to the pub but wouldn't bother again with the current beer regime in place.

TJ’s is a fairly small L shaped pub that was very busy with a mixed age crowd during my recent Friday afternoon visit. There is a pool table to the right of the bar and some background music was playing at an unobtrusive level. There is a large plasma screen behind the bar that was showing muted rolling news and another large plasma screen on the rear wall to the left of the bar was showing advertisements for the pub. It was from this screen that I learnt that there is a function room available for hire and the council has awarded the pub a five star (the best) food hygiene rating. The kitchen is open for lunch during the week and from 17:00 until 19:00 on Fridays. At the weekend food is served midday until 19:00 on Saturdays and midday until 16:00 on Sundays. There are a couple of high chairs by the back door so children must be welcome during the day. The kitchen was closed during my visit, but I did note that the mains are priced around the £8 mark. The door to the garden out the back was locked so I didn’t get to have a nose.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and the three hand pumps were drawing Tribute, Courage Best and Skinner’s Cornish Trawler.

I liked it in here and would return.

This pub changed names ages ago and is now T.J.'s. This is a nice pub with a new kitchen and a big beer garden. They have several big screen TV's for Rugby and Football, a pool table and they host darts and pool matches. Drop in soon.
