Moby Duck left this review about The Crown

A quiet village pub, well it was quiet on my Friday lunchtime visit, maybe it's busier in the evening, essentially two interconnected room's by way of an open archway. Six handpumps with three in each area, beers on in the end I chose to drink were Pride, Greene King London Glory and Timothy Taylors Landlord, the latter being in good nick, annoyingly I failed to note and remember the other three pumps choices but suspect a couple were duplicate.

Quinno _ left this review about The Crown

After a long period of closure the Crown re-opened as a community-focused freehouse a few years back. There are usually two to three ales available (Pride is a regular, with Otter and West Berks turning up on the other pump) which are of a good standard. Also stocks Tutts Clump cider. The new owners are trying hard and deserve to do well; the landladies are a very welcoming pair. If you're nearby I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint; it can be a bit quiet in the afternoons (Swallowfield is a commuter village) but livens up in the evening. Perhaps the interior could do a with a little more cosiness though.

I struggled to remember much about my visit, except that it's yet another Greene King pub that offered little out of the mundane...
