Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Guildhall

This is a decent, traditional pub in a quieter part of the town, with a simply furnished L-shaped bar and a community feel. Partly sheltered patio beer garden at the front. Greene King IPA, Old Golden Hen and the seasonal Rocking Rudolph (£4.40) from three of the five handpumps on this long overdue revisit.

The Guildhall is an L shaped pub found within the winding backstreets of Folkestone. My visit was on a recent Monday afternoon when there were a handful of locals sitting at the bar chatting to the friendly governor. Standard draught is available and one of the hand pumps was unused leaving Greene King IPA, Harvey’s Best and Butcombe’s Mendip Spring as the ale options.
Around to the left of the bar is a step down to a pool table and dartboard. There was some background music playing which I found very depressing.
Out the back is a small enclosed patio area, but there is more seating outside the front of the pub.

I thought that this pub was very welcoming and comfortable. Some more upbeat music would have been better or maybe just turn it off as the conversation around the bar was sufficient enough for a bit of atmosphere.

The Guildhall is a small, one-bar traditional town pub close to the town centre. It is characterised by its friendly, welcoming atmosphere, high beer standards (a GBG regular) and generally bright feel. It does good wholesome, no-nonsense food at decent prices. Four ales on, I enjoyed a superb pint of Bitter and Twisted, well kept and served at the right temperature. Another essential part of a town crawl, or somewhere to spend a pleasant evening in convivial company, this is a pub I always try to visit when in town.

I'd always received a good welcome in this pub and did so again on both recent visits. Even when seven of us walked in together we were welcomed and given a taste of the guest beer, an excellent triple hopped offering, the name of which escapes me now. On our visit the next day the guest was Exmoor Hound Dog which was good again. The pub has a well-kept feel to it with comfortable seating inside and a bright modern exterior. One of Folkestones best pubs.

Four ales on. Whilst clearly a “locals pub”, you don't feel unwelcome in there. The only thing I would say against the place is that it is only the second-best pub in Folkestone. I'll let you find the best one for yourself....
