Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lantern
Food-led establishment hidden away in the hamlet of Martin, but benefitting from having a railway station just down the road at the equally small (but pub-less) settlement of Martin Mill. Due to Covid-19 restrictions I was unable to view the interior (which I understand to have been carefully renovated in recent times), but this pub had been recommended for its split-level beer garden and this certainly doesn't disappoint. It features a modest patio terrace but this is supplemented by plenty of tables scattered around the very attractive surroundings of the much larger lower grassed area. Better still, this is a bit of a sun-trap too, offering shelter from a cool afternoon breeze. The only blip was that the cask ale supplies had yet to arrive following the end of lockdown, but my pint of keg Bombay Social IPA from the very local Angels & Demons brewery (£4.80) was still very welcome.
