E TA left this review about The Princes Park

"You can't miss it, mate" said the friendly local. Clearly I could as I had already cycled past it; I was looking for a pub, not an annex to Morissons which is what this bar is. It's a 1980s pseudo-pub built onto the brick-fronted structure of the aforementioned supermarket, consisting as far as I could tell of a single bar and a small garden area full of sticky children at the front. I was advised by another friendly local to make sure my bike was well and truly chained up so no-one stole it - said local then went on to say he'd probably steal it himself. At least he was honest. The carpet is horrible, the furniture is cheap and nasty, there is no real atmosphere and no real ale. But the welcome was real, that much can be said for the place. The staff were pleasant, and my bike was still in one piece, still chained to the railings when I left. It serves the local community, what more can you ask of a pub?
