This Hotel is certainly steeped in history after reading Whatpub. We stayed here for a couple of nights and found it to be very comfortable and good service. We did use the bar on one occasion, for a nightcap, which was very pleasant. The bar area is located in the rear dining and lounge area, which overlooks the sea. The colour scheme was mainly pale greens, light greys and white, and carpeted throughout. Four handpumps on the bar two Master Brew and two Whitstable Pale. I didn't see many people with sunglasses, then again it was out of season.

This is a fairly up market hotel bar. It's a rambling place that has a rear balcony overlooking the North Sea. Both beer and food are expensive and it attracts people who wear sunglasses on top of their heads even when they are indoors and it's getting dark outside.
The bar has four hand pumps which had Master Brew and Whitstable Pale doubled. I went for the Master Brew (£3.75) which was in good nick.
Unless you've got some sunglasses or enjoy staring at a huge expanse of featureless water it's probably not worth visiting.
