Too pretty to ignore - as we walked the coast path and stumbled on this pub below us at Shanklin Chine. Thatched Cottage, right on the beach - with people literally swimming up for a drink.

We sat outside to admire the view. Adnams Ghost Ship in good condition.

Wonderful pub.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Fishermans Cottage

Compact 'L'-shaped building, rightly known as 'the Pub on the Beach', with an attractive seating / dining area in the arm extending forwards from the plainer bar (but empty on a sunny bank holiday weekend afternoon while from small front patios were crammed, of course). Three real ales on handpump: London Pride plus Wight Gold and Vectis Venom from the Island Brewery.

Excellent pub right on the beach and a short walk from the old town & the Esplanade and at the bottom end of the Chine. Small inside but nice outdoor seating by the fishing boats/beach. 3 real ales, the quality was the best I had in Shanklin.

Lovely little pub with very good food. Ideal in the summer rather than in the winter as it is a small pub so sometimes hard to get a table. The outside is right on the beach which pleases my son as he loves to skim!!!! The only reason I havet given it a 10 star is because they charge you if you pay for your food by any kind of card!

A little L-shaped thatched stone built cottage, now a pub and tea-rooms, with a patio, on the edge of the beach and mouth of the chine.

The interior has two rooms, with stone floors, that follow the L shape - the pub part, which comes furthest out and the cafe part behind the patio. The decor is white and beams, with the exposed stone fireplace. It is crammed with ephemera from the fisherman's trade; nets, weights, as well as model ships, local photos and brass bits and pieces and stoneware jugs. There is a a big net over the ceiling of the cafe part (in case you dont pay the bill). Service was fine, the clientele a few holiday makers.

Beer; tap stuff, with a super Yate's Undercliff on handpull

As Andy says, its a lovely spot to while away an hour while my daughters were on the beech. The Chine Inn, up the hill wasn't open and this place meant i didn't miss it at all.

Virtually on the beach, this pretty thatched pub nestles at the base of Shanklin Chine and close to the Esplanade and bus stops. Well kept beers including locally brewed Goddards. Normal range of pub grub including salads and jackets. Good value at under a tenner for a substantial ham salad and a pint.
Small outside patio but nothing in the way of play area for the children, but then you do have the beach literally a step away - the pub I am told is closed during the winter.

Fuggle Dee Dum and Young's Bitter on cask. Great place to sit outside and watch the sea lapping the shore 10 yards away. No passing cars so a peaceful place to be
