Soup Dragon left this review about The Roadside Inn

A large detached pub and restaurant, with accommodation, in half brick and half white and beam look, with front gable and dormer windows, with beer garden area.

The interior had two rooms. An L shaped bar and dining area, with Sky TV and is in a some kind of toffee-ish whatever kind of colour wallpaper, with white painted wood panel. There was a wood burning stove in the corner of the bar and in the corner of the dining area there was some excellent live acoustic music from a couple that both sing and play the guitar – how rare is that these days! There were some prints on the walls, flowers on the table, blinds on the windows – a light but not too modern feel. The second room had darts and a pool table. The food was decent and very good value, so we ate here a couple of times. The customer service was really good, perturbed by the fact they felt we had been waiting to long my next pint and the daughter’s coke turned out to be free and the food turned up about 2 mins later. I complimented them on their HSB beer and a clean pint glass was offered to me. The clientele seemed to be holidaymakers mainly.

Beer; tap stuff, with an untried Wadsworth 6X and a very good Gale’s HSB

A tidy and comfy place, with good customer service and beer and well priced and decent food. I did return that week and would do so again without question.
