This used to be a good traditional pub owned by Enterprise Inns but it closed sometime in late 2005. The following year it was reopened as a fish restaurant called Snappers. It has now returned to it’s original name and has had an extensive refurbishment. It’s very much a food led pub but has a bar area and Old Speckled Hen on hand pump. I’m not sure I’d visit just for a drink but the food offering looks very good and it‘s good to see the old place surviving.

I learned this place was returned to a pub in 2007 - well done it was worth it! It's got a great atmosphere, complimented by excellent food and service. Sunday lunch is fun but also nice to go just for a drink.
